1. A new air filter can improve gas mileage by as much as 10%. Your air filter should be changed at least once a year to ensure you’re getting the best gas mileage possible.
2. Some people feel more comfortable resting their foot on the brake pedal at all times, but if this is a habit of yours, it’s time to break it. Not only does riding with your foot on the brake pedal wear out your brake pads (which can be costly at the repair shop), but it can also increase your gas consumption by as much as 35%.
3. When your tires are out of alignment, not only do your tires wear out more quickly, it also forces your engine to work harder. Having your tires aligned every six months is recommended, and can save you up to 10% at the pump.
4. I know you’re in a hurry to get to wherever it is you’re going, but driving at top speeds can really put a damper on your fuel efficiency. In fact, for every 5 mph you reduce your highway speed, you can reduce fuel consumption by 7%.
5. People tend to follow the motto, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” If you’re one of those people who avoid the mechanic until your car is spewing out steam on the side of the road, you could be costing yourself more money in gas. Getting a regular tune up prevents more expensive repairs later down the road while also improving your gas mileage by as much as 4%.

Who is worse?

NJ drivers will cut you off while yapping away on their cell phones, while NY drivers will continue in the left-most passing lane for miles, doing 10 mph less than all the other cars on the road and not blink an eye!

Personally, I’m sick of them all!

Every driver in NJ seems to be missing their turn-signal lever on the stearing wheel.  Half of them are color blind, when the left-turn arrow turns yellow, then red.  And, everyone who owns a cell phone uses (Hands Not Free!) every mile of the road!

Don’t complain about your state’s drivers until you have visited NJ!

I was sitting at a green light on the ’stop here’ line, with one car in front of me and another a car’s length in front of them (both in the intersection) in the left lane.  Then a Mercedes pulls up aside of me with its left turn signal flashing.

I’m like, “hat the hell is this idiot trying to do?”  Then he pulls in front of the next car and totally blocks the intersection as the light for us turns red.  The cars turning left off of Western onto Washington get the green light and pull forward honking their horns until the fool edges out of their way.

What kind of idiots are there coming from Mendham, NJ through Morristown?

Where are the police, when you really want to see some jerk get ticketed????? 

When will Morristown get Red-Light Cameras?

All cars manufactured do come with some sort of turn signal, don’t they?  Are there alot of one-armed drivers in NJ?

Why do so many people fail to signal their turn or lane changes?  Laziness?  It seems pretty effortless!  Ignorance?  They manage to dial a cell phone and talk on it (usually while driving!).  What’s the reason??????

Yes, I was gone for a while!  I had to stop ranting about the idiots on the roads, because all I started to notice was the poor driving.  Now, I realized that that is mostly what is out there - Poor Drivers and Idiots!
